iPhone 3.1.2 Hacking Linkfest
Apple, in their ever lasting wisdom, keep trying to make the iPhone a less friendly platform… That is, unless you know what you’re doing:
- Enable “Native” Tethering on 3G/3GS:
Why: Allows you to tether on the road however you wish for it.
Extras: Get mobile-configs on the road by pointing MobileSafari to http://www.benm.at/tethering.php
Find an existing tethering profile or build your own… and you’re done.
Unfortunately, I have not yet found a tethering patch for iPhone 2G..
Perhaps THIS does the trick, but I have not tested yet, and forgot my 2G @ Home today…
Extras #2: You can use the Tethering for hacking/dev experience on the phone. I’ve written a blog post on that..
- Enable 3GS Video Editing/Camera Roll on 3G/2G:
Why: You can now watch/edit/upload Cycorder recorded videos with the native iPhone app for .mov files…
- Enable 3GS Voice Control on 3G/2G:
Why: Duh… Use Voice Control without Apple’s approval on whatever device you have…
Quick question… to any readers out there..
Anyone know of a good cheap pre-paid data/3G provider in Japan?
All I’m getting is SoftBank, which seem to have stopped selling uSim only packages, and are not too cheap any-how.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
